New Shore, South Shields
We are working on a major project to secure the
redevelopment of a 30ha site at South Shields riverside for
comprehensive regeneration for a new mixed use neighbourhood,
accommodating employment, leisure and residential uses. We have been
appointed by South Tyneside Council (STC) and One NorthEast (ONE) to
provide specialist leisure input to assist develop an economic appraisal
of the scheme together
with securing outline planning. The focus of our work is the
establishment of a new riverside environment, known as the New Shore.
The New Shore follows the river frontage and is linked to existing and
proposed residential communities via a series of terraces. The area
designated for the New Shore is characterised by significant area of
redundant docks. Our specific role is to test and determine a viable and deliverable
activity mix that will provide a range of opportunities for existing
(and new) communities as
well as visitors to the town.
Coastal Regeneration -
Chichester - Supporting Study for Local Development
Framework
In conjunction with Tourism South East
and Rubicon Regeneration we evaluated the specific tourism
development potential of the Manhood Peninsula in Chichester
District and related the core findings to recommendations
for the emerging local development Framework to ensure that
tourism receives a ‘fair hearing’ as part the strategic
planning process.
Coastal
Regeneration - Hayling Island Waterfront
Working in a multi-disciplinary team
with Terra Firma Consultancy and HGP Architects we have
produced a masterplan for the Hayling Island Waterfront area
to help regenerate the seafront area. The project has
received coverage in the Architect's Journal
here.
Coastal Regeneration,
Weston-super-Mare, Somerset
Appointed by North Somerset District
Council to carry out a feasibility study to advise on the
development and the property management strategy of the Council
owned seafront concessions to assist with the regeneration
of the seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare.
Littlehampton Seafront Regeneration
Working in a multi-disciplinary team
including master planners and economic regeneration
specialists we provided expert tourism advice to identify
opportunities which would help to regenerate the seafront
area in Littlehampton.
Marina
Demand Study North Wales
Working alongside Newidiem, the leading
economic development consultancy in Wales, we were
commissioned to carry out a market demand assessment to
gauge the future demand for marina berths in Gwynedd and
neighbouring authorities.
Coastal
Regeneration Pier Parade, South Shields
PSCL were commissioned by South
Tyneside Council to carry out a commercial review of the
leisure options for the Pier Parade area in South Shields.
Work focused on carrying out a site review and appraisal of
the area; identifying and reviewing the key commercial
opportunities; carrying out an options appraisal; preparing
a risk assessment and setting out the next steps.
Regeneration
- Sheerness Docks, Kent
PSCL carried out a review of the
tourism and leisure markets to identify the options for
leisure / tourism development within the working Port of
Sheerness. We were working in a multi-disciplinary team as
part of a larger master planning exercise. Streatham Ice Rink
Development Framework, London
Working with a multi-disciplinary team to assess
and develop future development options for the 12-acre Streatham bus
station site in south London.
Urban Country Park /
Leisure Destination, North West
Following on from our earlier work with English
Partnerships we are now working alongside chartered surveyors and agents
Savills to seek out end operators for the project. End uses include a
18-hole golf course, country park with visitor centre and adventure
activity centre.
